My History
I have been passionate about books and gaming for my entire life, and have been working in the creative sector since I wrote my first novel at 15, and published my first book on Amazon at 18.

Since then I have explored many avenues of writing, moving from being an author to copy writing, script writing for film and animation to writing for video games.

After my undergraduate work I discovered game design, and was hooked; after teaching myself Construct 2, I designed Lectrovolt for Newgrounds.com, and founded Harmonize Studios to develop Lectrovolt II for Steam (PC). 

I finished my Masters in Game Development (Design) at Kingston University, and after releasing 'Shunpo!' on Samsung Gear, released in May 2018, I began working at Junkfish as a Level Designer on Monstrum 2.

During this time, I was able to achieve my dream of raising funding for my own studio as a full-time job. After completing a six month freelance contract at Bossa, designing levels for 'I Am Fish', I closed a $250,000 deal to design content for 'The Sandbox', and founded Primordial Game Studios.

After this contract finished in 2022, I spent one year helping Future Tech Studios to complete their multiplayer VR Shooter "The Flip" as the Senior Level Designer, before founding Astrarium Games, to help new graduates, out-of-work developers and enthusiastic amateurs to find their next job in the games industry, all while looking for my own.


In 2026, I closed down Astrarium Games and focused on a new project, under a new title, Reliquary Games, to pursue smaller projects.

3D MODELLING (MAYA / BLENDER)

Since studying at Kingston University, I have used Maya and Blender to build more ambitious models to use in Unity on a variety of projects. I have worked with modelling, sculpting, UV Mapping and texturing and have contributed models to over 20 projects.

LEVEL DESIGN

LEVELDESIGN

I have spent over ten years working in Level Design, working on static and procedurally generated levels, from every step from blocking and prototyping, content production and population, all the way to QA and launch.

PROGRAMMING

I am a self-taught programmer, used to using multiple languages for different projects, engines and platforms. I have written the programming in five games that I have launched, on PC, VR and Mobile.

C# (Unity)

I have programmed in C# for six years, working solely with Unity. I have built character controllers, environmental puzzles, UIs for PCs and Mobile and technical animations.

Java & Android Studio

I have used Java and Android Studio alongside Unity to build Mobile Games and onboard projects onto Android.

HTML5 & Web Design

I have designed and built websites for every studio I have founded, and have programmed HTML5 rich text for both marketing and UI / UX.

TEACHING & MENTORING

During my time at Astrarium Games, and for a six month period teaching IT at a middle school in Colchester, I discovered the immense reward of working with students. Being able to be part of their growth, helping to guide their efforts and provide feedback was hugely rewarding for me.

At Astrarium Games, I helped to form and guide three indie teams to MVP, and was able to help over thirty new graduates to find work.

 

I currently am advising two student teams at The Games Ark, an offshoot of Wee Tattie Studios, to help guide their teams and their projects from idea to MVP.
